as preparation for Zombie Jesus Day tomorrow ...
"Donkey is patient, donkey is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Donkey does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Donkey never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a donkey, I talked like a donkey, I thought like a donkey, I reasoned like a donkey. When I became an adult donkey, I put foalish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and donkey. But the greatest of these is donkey."Tags: donkeys

For awhile now, I've been looking at getting a pistol. Not for any 'self-defense' idea (no, I'm not the next George Zimmerman). But I like target shooting with a good pistol. Not just any pistol though. A Browning Hi-Power Mk III 9mm pistol. When in the Canadian Army I *loved* firing my Browning. Wonderfully balanced, with a smooth action, tight recoil (with very little 'twist' in the grip) and awesomely accurate, the Browning was the best pistol I've ever fired.
Glock? Well made, but dislike the balance. Sig/Sauer? They're good, but I *hate* the grip -- feels all wrong to me, and pushes the web between my thumb & fingers uncomfortably toward the slide. And don't get me started on the POS pressed-metal crap churned out by S&W and Beretta.
Nope, if I get a pistol it's going to be a Browning. Unfortunately, it looks at though I'm not the only one that feels this way about Brownings:

Browning,High Power GP "Competition",9mm,6" bbl.,38 oz.,Mfg 1987 $1750.00
Damn :( Looks like the only 9mm gun with a higher price is an H&K (which, I'll admit, I've never fired an H&K, and my cop buddy in Canada swears by his, so ... maybe I should try one someday). *sighs* Oh well -- someday when I've got so much money I just don't know what to do with it all, I'll get one :P
